Update from the Minister

My Dear Friends,

A few days ago, the Prime Minister announced further restrictions on our day to day movements in order to try and minimise the spread of the Coronavirus.

I am sure like me you have all been watching the news and are aware of the horrific death toll in Italy and Spain and the measures our government has taken is to avoid this happing in our Nation.

So please follow the advice and stay at home unless you are a key worker and don’t put yourself or others in danger by ignoring or disregarding these instructions.

As a church we are so complying with the governments recommendations and this means the church will no longer be open for worship or prayer and The Cornerstone is also closed.

But while the buildings maybe closed we the people (congregation) are the real Church and our ears, hearts and voices are still open and we need to keep in touch with each other and give each other encouragement and support.

These are frightening and challenging times for everyone and we are all having to find new ways of doing things – for some it is learning to use the computer or tablet that was previously only used to read and write emails.

For others it is going back to the old tried and tested telephone as a means of keeping in touch with family and friends.

What is important is that as a church family we keep in contact and if you are struggling and need someone to talk please phone 01505862583 or 01505862161 and leave a message and someone will call you back.

I also plan to record a short service weekly service, and encourage you to tune in on a Sunday morning at 11am and be part of this time of worship, for even though we physically distant we can still sing, pray and worship together in Christ name.

“For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them.” (Matt18:20)

God Bless
