Prayer in Time of Trouble

“The Lord is king forever; he has set up his throne for judgement. He rules the world with righteousness; he judges the nations with justice. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a place of safety in times of trouble. Those who know you, Lord, will trust you; you do not abandon anyone who comes to you.”  Psalm 9:7-10 GNB

Immortal, Invisible, God only wise,

In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,

Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,

Almighty, victorious, thy great name we praise.

Almighty God, we lift up our hearts in prayer in and through the precious name of Jesus, your Son our Saviour.

We draw near in prayer today to give thanks for all your providential care in our lives. For all the blessings of the past and all the hope for the future.

We remember this day those near and dear to us our loved ones, family and friends, those who are anxious about us just as we are anxious for them, In your mercy Lord be with them during these days of uncertainty.

We remember those within our community who give of their skills and talents for the wellbeing of others. Especially, all who are in the front line of this fight against this corona virus.

We remember just now all who have fallen victim to this virus, those who are in isolation with all the pressures this brings; those who facing severe consequences as a result of this pandemic not knowing how they are going to manage financially. Not forgetting our young people who are confused and worried about their academic future.

Loving Heavenly Father, we place into your hands these our prayers.
