It was wonderful on Sunday 27th March to ring our church bell again and to welcome members back to church. It had not been sounded for two years and I was the last person to ring the bell on Sunday 15th March 2020, the Sunday before the first National Lockdown was announced and when we, like many church buildings, closed our doors to public worship.
This however, did not stop us from gathering online from the safety of our homes or later in reduced numbers in the church or carpark as we found alternative ways to be a church community and to keep together despite social distancing.
Sunday’s service was an opportunity to say thank you to all the Key and Essential Workers in our community and in our church. A big thanks to our Pastoral Visiting Team, Audio Visual Team, Communications Team, Elders, COVID Team, Youth Leaders and all the volunteers who have given of their times and skills in the past two years: from a Kitkat to a chitchat, it has all been greatly appreciated.
We now venture forward into Spring and continue to seek God’s Blessing on our Church and community as we adapt to live with this virus but always trusting in God who has guided and protected us in the past.
Stay well – God Bless
