Church Choir

Choir practices and rehearsals restart on Thursday 11th August, 7.30 until 9.30pm in The Cornerstone. From Thursday 25th August, choir rehearsals will commence at 8.15pm and end at 9.45pm. This will enable both the choir and the Girls’ Brigade to run smoothly in The Cornerstone.

New members always welcome – for further information please contact Stewart Munro, or any choir member.

Many thanks to all who supported last Sunday’s concert by The Chamberpots. A large audience enjoyed an excellent programme of popular music, and the sum of over £300 was raised. As well as Church Funds, it has been decided to give a donation to the Nordoff Robbins music therapy charity (nominated by The Chamberpots).

Thanks also to those who printed programmes and tickets; those who helped with stewarding; those who helped with transport; the tech team; and most of all those who attended the concert.

The next concert is in the church at 2.30pm on Sunday 21st August. This will feature musicians from our own congregation in a varied programme of Scottish music, ragtime and songs from shows. The concert is in aid of the West Of Scotland Scouts Mission to Nepal, and Stuart Wilson will give a short presentation on the work of the mission. The concert will last an hour. There will be no tickets for this event, but there will be a retiring offering for the work of the mission. Please support this worthwhile cause.

Junior Singing Group

We hope to start a junior singing group on 15th August. The group will meet in The Cornerstone from 4pm until 5pm on Monday afternoons.

Road Crossing at Church

Renfrewshire Council have advised that their contractor should be commencing work on the installation of new warning signs and road markings on Ferry Road on the approach to the Church during the week commencing 8th August.

We have also instructed a contractor to provide a new pathway into the car park nearer to the Drumcross Road junction. The aim of this is to improve the sight distance for pedestrians crossing from the north side of Ferry Road to the car park. A start date for this work has still to be agreed.

Donations can be dropped off outside the main door of the church on any Sunday morning or at The Cornerstone on a Tuesday morning.
