Thanks are due to everyone involved in the recent Church Concert – the performers in Church Choir, Junior Singers, Orchestra and soloists, those who helped with stewarding, the AV team, those who helped with tickets and programmes, and the audience who turned out on a miserable wet night. The excellent total of £500 was raised for church funds.

BISHOPTON DAY

Chocolate Heaven at Bishopton Day on Saturday 15th June.

Once again Bishopton Parish Church is holding a Chocolate Tombola stall at Bishopton Day.

Donations of chocolate, anything from biscuits, bars, bags or boxes, can be handed in to the Church on a Sunday morning or to The Cornerstone.

ERSKINE BISHOPTON CHURCHES TOGETHER

Our Church has recently become part of Erskine Bishopton Churches

Together (EBCT) which as well as ourselves, includes 6 Churches in Erskine. This is in effect a loose umbrella group and there is the potential for us to get involved in several different ways where it makes sense for us to do so. These are as follows:

1. The opportunity to develop and participate in activities of a scale which none of the individual Churches could achieve on their own – ie the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. A good example of that approach is the work with asylum seekers at Erskine Hotel.

2. Sharing of information about individual member Church activities – ie promoting particular worship or other events to members from other Churches where there is capacity to accommodate additional participants. This is a two-way street in that we will promote our activities as appropriate, eg the Citizens Advice Outreach at the Cornerstone, and other Churches will do likewise.

More information about EBCT activities will be circulated over Spring/Summer including a Summer Fun Day at the Waterfront Campus in Erskine!

50th Anniversary of Bishopton Community Centre

Bishopton Community Centre will celebrate 50 years of opening this year on 30 November. We would love to display photos within the Centre from throughout the years.  If you have any photos you could share, please forward them by email with as many details you can remember of who, what occasion and when to: Bishoptonanniversaryphotos@gmail.com

Alternatively leave them in the office at the Community Centre clearly marked as to the occasion and who they belong to. Thank you!

Foodbank

Donations can be brought to the Church on Sundays and can also be brought to The Cornerstone on Tuesday or Thursday mornings.

As the Foodbank continues to experience a significant decrease in donations but an increase in the amount of people and families needing support, all donations are welcome. Your support as always is greatly appreciated.
