Our thoughts and prayers are with all who are mourning at this time.
Sunday Kidz
Children are encouraged to be part of the Morning Worship from 11am in the Church, and they may leave after the second hymn to take part in Sunday Kidz activities in the Extension Hall. On the first Sunday of each month (Family Service), when there is no organised Sunday Kidz activity, the creche will be available for all children.
This week (Sunday 11th May) the Sunday Kidz will be having a “BIRD WALK” in the Church grounds led by Tony Baker. All welcome (including any newcomers).
Junior Singers
Meets on Mondays, from 3.45 until 4.45pm.
New members most welcome!
Open to all children of Primary School age.
Boys’ Brigade
Meets on Mondays at 6.30pm.
Open to primary school boys.
Girls’ Brigade
On Thursday 15th May The Girls’ Brigade awards ceremony and Parents’ night will take place in The Cornerstone starting at 7.00pm. This will be the last meeting until after the summer break. Re-starting date after school holidays will be advised in a future Newsy-Mail.
Senior Choir
Meets on Thursday evenings. Please check “Notes for your diary” above for starting time this week. This week the practice will be held at 7.30pm in the church. New members welcome. See below for details of the Concert on Thursday 29th May.
Church Concert
This year’s Church Concert takes place in The Cornerstone on Thursday 29th May from 7.30 – 8.30pm. The Church Choir, Junior Singers and Praise Band will all be taking part, along with some friends. The programme will include music from “Mary Poppins” and “The Wizard Of Oz”, along with Sousa’s March “Liberty Bell”.
Tickets (adults £5, children free) will be on sale from Sunday 11th May with all proceeds going to church funds. The ticket price also includes tea/coffee and home baking.
Please come along and support what is always an enjoyable event.
Coffee Stop
The Coffee Stop is open on Tuesday mornings between 10 and 11.30am.
Drop in for tea/coffee and biscuits. Come and go as you please and catch up with friends.
Thursday Chit Chat Group
Meets every Thursday at 1.00pm. This week – Compass Band
Playtime @ The Cornerstone
Meets on Mondays from 1.30 until 2.45pm.
Parents/guardians who bring their child /children, will be responsible for the overall care and overseeing their children at play.
Bishopton Christian Aid Group
Coffee Morning and Plant Sale SATURDAY 17th MAY – 10.00am – 12 noon.
The order forms and coffee morning tickets are now available at the Church, The Cornerstone or from Carolyn Macdonald. PLEASE RETURN COMPLETED ORDER FORMS TO THE CORNERSTONE BY MIDDAY ON TUESDAY 13TH MAY.
Please hand in any “home grown” plants into The Cornerstone between 6.30 and 7.30pm on Friday 16th May or on Saturday from 9.00am. For further information please contact Carolyn Macdonald on 07971 537348.
CHRISTIAN AID WEEK – 11TH – 18TH MAY
Christian Aid collection envelopes will be available in the Church on Sundays 11th and 18th May and at The Cornerstone on Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th May. If you are eligible, please complete the Gift Aid form as this increases your donation by 25%.
Bishopton Community Centre Association
Bishopton Community Centre Association is holding its AGM on Monday 12 May at 7.15pm in the Community Centre. All welcome, please come along and participate. The Committee needs new members to ensure the Centre continues to thrive.
