Sunday 7th September

Church Concert.

A huge “thankyou” to everyone who supported Sunday’s concert in the church – performers, AV team, stewards and all who worked behind the scenes. A very pleasant afternoon of great music was enjoyed by a large audience, and donations to the Chisangano Appeal amounted to £ 664.80. Thanks to the One World Committee for their input to this event.

Funeral intimations

Our thoughts and prayers are with all who are mourning at this time. 

Sunday Kidz

Restarting date will be announced in the Newsy-Mail

Children are encouraged to be part of the Morning Worship from 11am in the Church, and they may leave after the second hymn to take part in a creche which will be available for all children in the Extension Hall.

Boys’ Brigade

The Boys’ Brigade meets on Mondays at 6.30pm.

Open to primary school boys.

Girls’ Brigade

Regular meetings on Thursdays

·         P4 – 7                  7.00pm                               

·         Sec. Sch              7.45pm

Playtime at The Cornerstone

Meets on Mondays from 1.30 until 2.45pm.

Parents/guardians who bring their child /children, will be responsible for the overall care and overseeing their children at play. 

Junior Singers

The Junior Singers meets on Mondays in The Cornerstone from 3.45 – 4.45pm. We will be singing Scottish songs, songs from shows, Disney tunes and some choruses and hymns.

The group is open to children of Primary School age and meets during school term time.

New members will be made very welcome.

Coffee Stop

The Coffee Stop restarts on Tuesday, 2nd September between 10 and 11.30am.

Drop in for tea/coffee and biscuits. Come and go as you please and catch up with friends.

Thursday Chit Chat Group

Meets every Thursday at 1.00pm. This week – The Paddle Steamer, WAVERLEY

Renfrewshire Foodbank

The demand for the Foodbank in Renfrewshire continues to increase.

At this time of year, the stock decreases significantly as we are between the generous donations usually received at Easter and Harvest.

We continue to need tinned foods, meat, fish, soup, vegetables, pasta sauce, as well as cereals, biscuits, long life milk, diluting juice. We also welcome donations of toiletries particularly shampoo and shaving items, pet food and chocolate/sweets.

Donations can be dropped off at the Church on Sunday or at the Cornerstone when it is open for Chit Chat, Coffee Stop or Services.

Future Events

Langbank Church 50 – 50 Proms

The next concert takes place on Sunday 7th September at 2.30pm. This will be a performance by the St James Handbell Ringers. Tickets, priced £5, are available at the door.

Glasgow Phoenix Choir 
The Glasgow Phoenix Choir will be presenting a Choral Celebration on Sunday 21st September at 2.30pm in the church. Tickets priced £10 are available from the church on Sundays, from The Cornerstone office and from Social Committee members.

Erskine Churches Together

Erskine Churches Together are holding a Fun Day on Saturday, 6th September, 11.00am – 3.00pm. Event highlights: Exciting games & Activities, BBQ Food, Bouncy castles, Crafts and more!
