About Us

Welcome to our Church Website. We are a Church of Scotland congregation serving the community of Bishopton in Renfrewshire and a warm welcome is extended to you whether this is your first time visiting our website or whether you have viewed this site on previous occasions.

On an historical note the present church building was completed in 1815, although a church has occupied this site for many centuries. The first major growth of our community occurred in Victorian times with the arrival of the railway between Glasgow and Greenock and subsequent expansions took place in the early part of the 20th Century with the arrival of the munitions factory and then the housing developments of the 1960s and 1970s. In more recent years a large and continual increase in the population has been taking place with the new housing development of ‘Dargavel Village’, Bishopton and this brings fresh faces and challenges to the sharing of the Word and Faith of God in our community.

Our Christian aim is to provide an atmosphere where people feel comfortable and relaxed in their worship with God and our hope is that everyone will feel welcome, enriched and encouraged by their time with us.

We are well led and served by our Minister, the Rev. Yvonne Smith, and if you either live in Bishopton (or happen to be visiting our community on a Sunday morning) please feel encouraged to drop into our church, enjoy the service and learn more about the life within this church and its congregation of friendly people.
